Mimar Zeki is a supporting character of Shoukoku no Altair and has since chapter 77 been promoted to the Insaat Baskan of the Türkiye province Chielo.

Appearance[]

Zeki is a tall man that reaches 183cm in height. He has short, black hair and blue, narrow eyes accompanied by quite thin eyebrows. His skin is fair and he has slim fingers. Zeki has broad shoulders but doesn't appear to be very muscular underneath his layers of clothing. Usually, he tends to wear a very stern expression due to the fact that he takes his work and responsibilities very seriously. He wears a blue fez and has an earring in his left ear. Zeki also sports a dark blue dress with a detailed silver outline and long, patterned sleeves. He wears pointy shoes and a lighter blue robe with a striped outline and very long sleeves.

Personality[]

In his original manga portrayal, Zeki is shown as a serious and proud person, who is easily angered by things he deems to be unfair or silky. He is unafraid of standing up to people and voicing his own opinion, regardless of his and their position. He appears to be very passionate about his work as an architect and takes it very seriously. Zeki is a head-strong person and quite strict with Mahmut, as he is the successor of Halil, who meant a lot to Zeki.

However, in his one-episode appearance in the anime's 24th episode, a lot of his core personality traits, like his stubbornness and prideful disposition, had been reduced significantly or altered altogether; in the anime, Zeki lost his usual default stern facial expression and he never voiced his opinions so strongly as he has always been in the manga, even going as far as showing explicit full support to Mahmut's ideas in the Divan without any objections.

Abilities[]

It is revealed during his first introduction that when Halil Pasha rebuilt the Inşaat Medrese (school of architecture) 13 years ago after the war, Zeki graduated at the top of his class. Zeki is referred to as one of Türkiye's finest architects and it is said that he inherited Halil's vision as his disciple. He also shows a great understanding of battle strategies and politics in general, albeit his prideful nature sometimes pose some difficulties in accepting ideas from perspectives outside of his own.
